Just when Lincoln Center calms down and you, the general public, thinks we are done till February, it continues for the Bridal market. Bridal Market is exactly like the other fashion markets. Editors, Press, Industry and Stylists go to different shows and presentations to see what’s new for Bridal gowns and Bridal Party Fashion. The accessories are a big part of the presentations as well. No Bride is complete without the right shoes and jewels! I had the pleasure of executing the looks for 2 bridal companies, White by Vera Wang and David’s Bridal for their Spring 2012 Press previews.
White by Vera Wang is a line that is designed exclusively for David’s Bridal. I fell in love with a gown last season and cheated on “her” and fell in love with more this season! I was not disappointed! The layers of tulle, artistic floral appliques and the flange skirts were dreamy! There is just something about a Vera Wang dress! I love the horsehair ribbons. It’s such an avant-garde take on the usual satin ribbon. It adds just the right amount of chicness to the gown.
There were also replicas of the dresses Vera made for Kim Kardashian and the much talked about, now defunct, fairytale wedding .
If you ever want a Vera Wang gown and can’t afford the signature collection, you will be completely satisfied with a gown from White by Vera Wang.
I also styled the Bridal collections for David’s Bridal. David’s Bridal is the “go to” place for savvy Brides to find the gown of their dreams without bursting their budget. Bridesmaids appreciate David’s Bridal selection and prices too! Now I know some of you might turn your nose up at the thought of going to David’s Bridal but, I am hear to tell you, you are sooooo wrong! The collections are so fashion forward! DB Studio, Galina, Galina Signature and Oleg Cassini were represented at the preview.
There was also vignettes that showed what your entire bridal party could look like.
Let’s not forget the accessories!
I had 58 bust forms to dress, 2 assistants, 5 racks of dresses but, when it was all said and done , it was worth it. Wouldn’t you agree?
I love working with Brides. There’s nothing like finding “the dress” for her. When you “get her” and she can see her childhood dream come to life, it’s an awesome experience. Having an inside track to what is fresh and new to the Bridal market helps too! ;)
So, if you’re getting married and need your own bridal stylist, call me, there’s a package for you! I’d be honored to work with you on your special day. Stay tuned, I’ll be bringing you more from the Bridal world! Till then, keep dreaming! Some day your Prince will come…..and I’ll be right there to find your dress!
